Pakistan Collapsing III

Wow, it appears that Pakistan doesn't even want to fight. Long War Journal has the depressing details. Read past the headlines: Rangers for Pakistan doesn't mean the same thing as Rangers for the US.

  1. I first heard about this when I read the Joint Operating Environment 2008 report from fox news. I don't know much about this but I found the report interesting. http://www.jfcom.mil/newslink/storyarchive/2008/JOE2008.pdf
If Pakistan is about to collapse why isn't the news media making a big deal about it?

  2. Hi Jeff, welcome to the blog! Good link. I like the quote from Thucydides:

“We have done nothing extraordinary, nothing contrary
to human nature in accepting an empire when it was offered to us and then in refusing to give it
up. Three very powerful motives prevent us from doing so – security, honour, and self interest.
And we were not the first to act in this way. Far from it.”
    Thucydides

One of the points I want to make with the blog is that United States and The West in general should not be ashamed of Empire. Of what was done in the past and what may be done now. Thucydides explains why very straightforwardly above.

  3. That sub article "Strategic Estimates in the 20th Century" is fascinating reading. Shows that no one can really predict even the near future.

  4. Remember those insightful lyrics from Oingo-Boingo:
You worry too much, you make yourself sad
You can't change fate, but don't feel so bad
Enjoy it while you can, it's just like the weather
    So quit complaining brother,
    No one lives forever!!!!!

  5. Welcome to the party Master Dick! Well, if we didn't complain, there would be no point to this blog!

  6. Maybe Master Dick is correct, I mean, what do we have to worry about? If those nukes are going to be used, it will be against targets in India. Just like Israel, India will be the prime actor due to necessity.
