The Department of Homeland Security's Rightwing Extremism report is a cheap political hitpiece, meant purely to intimidate conservatives and timed to counteract the Tax Day Tea Party rallies. This is pure Big Brother, Soviet style, government propoganda. I fear for this country.
While I abhor the report I think that it plays into our favor. The report, along with the ever increasing perception that government is going to start trying to take people's guns, is the fuel we need to get Republicans out to vote in 2010.
ReplyDeleteIt will be interesting to see what Obama tries to do to "stem" the flow of guns from the US to Mexico. If this process can be spun to be a back door attack on gun rights than it could have a profound political effect.
