Some Old School Larnin' for Libs

There's nothing that is said in the video below that is news to RTP readers, but this is some good old school smackdown that you only hear when a good professor lays it on a hapless student. We've probably all been on the receiving end at one time or another. The year is 1979. Liberals are at the peak of their power, with Jimmy Carter in the White House, the entire Congress in Democrat hands, and the Supreme Court also in the hands of liberals. Not coincidentally, the Soviet Union was at the peak of their power and the US was in the midst of stagflation: double digit inflation & unemployment, goals for which Obama is still striving.

Anyway, one of the most popular talk show hosts on TV in the '70's was Phil Donahue. He and his wife, actress Marlo Thomas, are and were super flaming leftists. To his credit, he had the guts to invite Milton Friedman on his show. At the time, Friedman had been the leader of the Chicago School of Economics, and had won a Nobel Prize in Economics in 1976. His economic theories heavily influenced Ronald Reagan and Margaret Thatcher as they broke many of the bonds of socialistic economic policies in-place since FDR's time. He died in 2006.

Anyway (again), this is useful to hear, and useful to keep in your toolbox. Enjoy!

  1. That is awesome. But he didn't say much. I will take in my arsenal though what he said about, "Where in the world is there a place that doesn't run on greed?" Because I know some liberal will throw out there the whole "Greed" factor about corporations, rich people, and capitalism. Poor people are more viciously greedy when they want to STEAL from the rich to feed their greedy little mouths.

  2. How can anybody be for greed? It sounds so horrible, and any policy that tries to destroy it is good. I guess people who hate evil greed would rather have people just work for the good of the collective. Does not sound all that bad, but it goes it against human nature. People that are anti greed are trying to ignore reality and the nature of existence, as a result it leads to death.
The systems that are supposed to not be run on greed, communism and socialism, produce the greatest amount of greed and the most inequitable amount of income redistribution of wealth.

This illustrates how people use a word like greed and make policies that claim to eliminate it as a disguise to implement a different system or for purposes other than destroying greed. They say save the environment or destroy greed and support me and my policies, all the while they are using your support to further their own agenda--usually of enslaving you.

The realization of a system that does not run on greed has already been put into practice in the real world--the Soviet Union. When we look at what it lead to--the deaths of millions, it makes you wonder about people's motives or their level of thinking ability who still propose and work to implement such a system. The current government is working overtime to implement such a system here in America.
