Asian Ascendency continued

An article in The Australian discusses India's reaction to China's rise and its threat to India.  More argument to the idea that China is surrounded by powerful rivals.

  1. Yeah, further argumentation that when faced with Defense cuts, we should shrink our land armies (since India, Japan, Indonesia, Philippines, etc provide all the fodder we need) and keep our hands off of the Air Force and Navy.

  2. Further argumentation that Ron Paul's foreign policy wouldn't be THAT BAD because our allies in that region can handle things. Just a few air bases and a bunch of carriers and subs is all we need.

  3. Further argumentation that Ron Paul's idea of bringing more troops home would not be a bad idea. These nations can fend for themselves and all we need is a couple subs and carriers out there with a couple bases.

  4. Ron Paul is an appeaser of America's enemies and an isolationist.

But for sure, we should be assisting our Asian allies in containing China, not putting our troops in the first ranks.

  5. Can you explain yourself? I want to know why you would say he is an "appeaser" and an "Isolationist". What is wrong with being an Isolationist anyway?

Ron Paul supports all the ideals that the contributors to this blog espouse. Do you suggest that the only thing he lacks is a hunger for war? I don't think that is a bad thing. I think that the Iraq war was a huge mistake. Kind of like drafting Oden over Durant, it may have seemed smart at the time but we can all agree that it was a mistake. I don't blame our leaders for taking us to war, but it would be wise to learn from our mistakes. Iran, a country who couldn't defeat Iraq, is no bigger threat. Let them rot in their disgusting corner of the world.

Ron Paul has been consistent in saying that he does not want Iran to get nukes. I don't know why everyone thinks that he loves Iran. He obviously doesn't want them to do harm to us or our allies, but he does not want to overreact or over dramatize and add credibility to this rogue dictator.

  6. It should also be pointed out that in 1981, when Israel attacked an Iraqi nuclear reactor , Ron Paul was one of the very few congressmen who did not condemn the attacks. His stance has never changed on any issue.
