Fascinating 1968 BBC Interview with JRR Tolkien

A Far Out but fascinating BBC interview with JRR Tolkien from 1968, when the Lord of the Rings craze was peaking.  What Tolkien has to say is most interesting,  Lots of interviews with ditzy 60's British college kids too, straight out of the Monty Python series.

  1. Wow. Way far out. I can't really explain how far out.

I love the language of Tolkien. It is so simple and straight to the point. It is amazing how his language can illustrate an idea in so few of words. I wish I could do that.

  2. I like the Lord of the Rings story. It is a classic good vs. evil story. 60's people were clowns.

  4. My favorite part is the bloke who begins speaking around 14:45. I especially like his inflection on the word "today" at 15:16.
